Default Unlock Password on a Cisco CP-7960

A customer who purchased several Cisco CP-7960 IP Phones called today and asked how to unlock the phones in order to change the network settings. The customer was in the process of upgrading the software to the latest version of SCCP.

The phones she purchased came with SIP software and she was confronted with a password when she selected the Unlock menu item after pressing the Settings button.

The default password for unlocking a Cisco IP Phone with SIP v4.2 or better is "cisco".

As with any Cisco product we sell, Teksavers makes sure to set all devices, including Cisco routers & Cisco switches back to default before they are re-sold.
