Remote Internet Access

Remote access allows you access your computer or network no matter where you are. Through remote access, you are never but a click away from your computer, network or server, all you need is an Internet connection.

Tip: As long as you have an Internet connection and a network to access, you can stay connected to your home or office wherever you go via remote access.

In today's society, it's all about staying connected. If you live an active lifestyle and your constantly on the go, then it's important to stay connected with your business and your personal life. Remote access allows you to do just that. Anywhere you go, as long as you have Internet access and remote access software, you can easily access your network from home, a client's office and even on vacation.

Remote access software installed on your laptop computer and the computers you need to connect to allows you to gain access to everything you have on your home or work computer. There are various ways that you can get connected, as long as you have the software and a connection that will allow you to do it.
A wireless connection, cable Internet connection, DSL connection and even a dial-up connection can get you connected to your office or home computer. The computer that you are connecting to and the computer that you are connecting with both need to have an Internet connection. An Internet connection that is always on, like a cable or DSL connection, is ideal for remote access.

When connecting it is also best to have a secure remote access connection. You can achieve this through a Virtual Private Network (VPN). This is the most common and affordable method of doing this.

There are several types of affordable VPN protocols as well as Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP), Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) and SSL. These create a secure and encrypted "tunnel" through the public network. VPNs protect the data while it is being transmitted from point-to-point.

Remote access is not only convenient, but it is very affordable and can even save you money. Whether you forgot to send yourself a certain file on your work computer so that you could work on it while at home or vice versa, you don't have to drive back to work to get it. Or, if you forgot something on your home computer while you're traveling, you have instant access to it from your hotel Internet connection or other Internet connection. Remote access is simply convenient, no matter how you need to use it.
